About William Broman

Grosse Pointe Roots

William Broman was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Woods.  He received his K-12 education from Grosse Pointe Public School System, attending Monteith, Parcells, and Grosse Pointe North.  William graduated GP North in May 2010.  His youth was spent participating in sports through Crescent Sail Yacht Club/DRYA, Grosse Pointe Woods/Shores Little League, Grosse Pointe Soccer Association and the Neighborhood Club.  He also served as a talent on Grosse Pointe War Memorial WMTV5’s “Young View Pointes,” television program.

Mr. Broman Goes To Washington

William earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University.  As a student-athlete (Sailing) at GW he balanced the demands of his team, and his intensive curriculum.  William also served as treasurer for the GW chapter of College Republicans.  He was awarded the Rohlf Senior Design Award for his work on an innovative device to aid military and law enforcement personnel in mass casualty situations.

William was a regular at Pete’s Diner on 2nd and C St SE, occupying a seat at the counter when the sailing team didn’t have early morning workouts.

2012 School Board Election

Fall of 2012 proved to be one of his busiest semesters as William juggled his commitment to his team, his studies, and his College Republican chapter while running for a seat on the GPPSS School Board.  He would receive more than 9,000 votes in a campaign that focused on innovative, sustainable policies.

William and the Automotive Industry

In 2011 William spent the summer rotating through various jobs on the plant floor of a Michigan-based automotive supplier.  In 2013, William returned for the summer to follow through on the request from ownership to implement more technology and seek out cost savings.  Following graduation from GW, William once again found himself working for the same supplier.  These experiences have provided an opportunity to connect with people at all levels of the organization, and understand the business from many different angles.
