DETROIT, MI (October 11, 2016) – Tonight William Broman, Republican candidate for State Representative in District 1, issued the following statement on the Detroit News story “Feds cite DMC for problems with dirty instruments”:

“The findings reported are horrifying.  Detroit’s children and adults that receive treatment at DMC hospitals deserve the same quality of care as children and adults in the suburbs and elsewhere around Michigan.”

Broman continued “in September, LARA said there was no immediate risk to ongoing surgeries, the report from Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services says that ‘potential for unsatisfactory patient outcomes for surgical patients.’  We need to prevent further acceptance of mediocrity from state departments.”

“I urge Speaker Cotter, House Republicans and other state leaders to show Detroiters we have their back by conducting a thorough investigation into how conditions at DMC got to this point.”
