WILLIAM BROMAN STATEMENT ON NEW FELONY CHARGES AGAINST STATE REP. BRIAN BANKS

 

DETROIT, MI (June 28, 2016) – Today William Broman, candidate for State Representative in District 1 covering Grosse Pointe, Harper Woods, and Detroit issued the following statement regarding new felony charges against State Rep. Brian Banks:

“It is unfortunate that we must continue to question the integrity of elected leadership in the first district.  I look forward to giving Detroit, Harper Woods, Grosse Pointe Woods and Shores better representation in Lansing as State Representative, with a clear strategy for how we can improve the district and Detroit as a whole.”

The Detroit News reported today that Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed four felony charges against Banks for alleged crimes dating back to June 2010.

About William Broman For Michigan

William Broman is the only Republican candidate for District 1 in the Michigan House of Representatives.  He grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods and attended Grosse Pointe Public Schools.  He graduated Grosse Pointe North in 2010, and earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from George Washington University graduating in 2014.  He has worked for an automotive supplier as an engineer and a DC based education advocacy group.   In 2012, Broman ran for a seat on the Grosse Pointe Public Schools Board of Education, receiving more than 9,000 votes.  He currently lives in Grosse Pointe Woods.
